Marketing Content Specialist

Hourly wage: $30 – $35
About the role
We’re seeking a part-time, 100% remote, versatile content marketing specialist who can leverage AI tools to transform and repurpose marketing materials across multiple formats. This role combines content development, social media expertise, copywriting skills, and marketing-research in a part-time capacity (approximately 24 hours per week to start).
Hours per week may increase over time, with the option to convert into an employee if there is a strong mutual fit. Candidate preference from the USA and/or Canada. Minimum availability for work and meetings between 9am to 2pm Pacific Time.
Key responsibilities
- Transform existing marketing content into various formats (blog posts to brochures, service pages, etc.)
- Repurpose long-form content into engaging social media posts that maintain our brand voice
- Generate mid-level copywriting content for different marketing materials
- Research related to marketing and thought leadership opportunities
- Attend internal meetings and collaborate with the broader marketing team
Required Skills & Experience
- Proficiency with AI content tools for marketing applications
- Experience with content repurposing and reformatting
- Working knowledge of Canva and WordPress
- Pre-existing experience with PM tools, preferably tools like: Asana, ClickUp, Monday
- Existing experience with effective social media content creation
- Solid writing skills, with an interest in using AI to help increase quality and speed of output
- Ability to maintain consistent brand voice across platforms
- Organizational skills to manage multiple content projects simultaneously
- Proven experience working remotely, which includes your ability to self-manage yourself and proactive, effective communication
- Prior experience working in a Digital Agencies is a strong plus
- Design skills, especially an understanding of page layout and basic design principles are very welcome
Typical Week
Your work week might look like:
- Marketing material conversion into Canva: 4 hours
- A website blog post is turned into a services page: 4 hours
- Social media content creation: 4 hours
- AI-assisted copywriting: 4 hours
- Marketing/Leadership research & outreach: 4 hours
- Admin, comm overhead and internal meetings: 4 hours
Ideal Candidate
This is a very broad position that is ideal for the right person who likes to do a little of everything and who is keen to use AI to help support them in their role.
We are looking for someone who works well independently with defined objectives and then can self-start to figure out how to get there with minimal hand holding. We are most interested in people who are eager to learn new tools, systems and ways of thinking. People who like diversity and want a work opportunity that touches on multiple related disciplines rather than a single narrow-focused job title.
We are an AI-first company, meaning we all use AI in our workflows. As such you will be exposed to many tools and methods of working that are aimed to help support and augment how you do things. We are looking therefore for people for whom this sounds exciting and also for people who can share their knowledge in AI and bring to us even more AI-centric thinking, solutions and enthusiasm.
However AI-first doesn’t mean it replaces you, or that you just use AI to do your job without any thought. What we are not looking for is people who just generate text from AI and copy-paste it into emails or reports and think they have completed a task. [we don’t need to hire for that! We can just make a new AI Automation….]
We are looking for thinkers, orchestrators, someone who knows what the output should be and then use tools like AI to help accelerate and increase the quality of their work — not replace them and do it for them instead.
